Maurizio Dehò

Born in Milan, he graduated in classical and composition studies and proceeded to study in Budapest, where he specialized in Gypsy violin technique. He studied at the Benares Hindu University (India), where he learned Hindu and Raga violin techniques.

His artistic activity begins in the '70s with the Gruppo Folk Internazionale, with whom he performs on tour in Italy and abroad and records the albums Festa Popolare (1975) and Daloy Politzei (1977).

He is the founder of numerous groups which go from popular music, jazz, tango, classical and contemporary. He has composed and performed music for the theatre, especially collaborating with Moni Ovadia and with directors Salvatores, Strehler, Daniele Abbado.

He is the solo violinist in film and ballet soundtracks.

He has collaborated with musicians of the calibre of Joe Zawinul, composers Riccardo Sinigaglia, Carlo Boccadoro, Gianni Coscia, Arrigo Cappelletti, Hana Roth.

In 1993, together with Gian Pietro Marazza and Luigi Maione, he formed the group Rhapsodija Trio. Since then they have performed intensively in Italy and abroad.
